Indian origin man sentenced to jail-caning for rioting in Singapore

Kavind Raj Kannan, 25, received a two-year, three-month jail sentence and three cane strokes for rioting, resulting in Mohammad Isrrat Mohd Ismail's death at a Concorde Hotel nightspot in August 2023. He and ten others attacked Isrrat, who was fatally stabbed by Asvain Pachan Pillai Sukumaran, whose murder case is still pending.
