‘She had a pulse when Parag found her’: Shefali Jariwala’s friend Pooja Ghai reveals ‘Bigg Boss’ fame’s final moments

Cardiac arrest, epilepsy, anti-ageing treatments. Shefali Jariwala’s sudden death has caused mounting speculation, many wondering how the actress died. While initial reports claim the cause of death to be a heart attack, questions arose on the course of events that led to the untimely passing of the 42-year-old on the night of June 27.
Jariwala’s friend, actress Pooja Ghai, shared her version of what she thinks might have occurred on that fateful night. In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Ghai stated that Jariwala’s husband, Parag Tyagi, was out walking the dog when the domestic help urged him to return home. “What happened exactly, we will get to know after postmortem, but from what I understand from the family, she had dinner and told Parag to take the dog for a walk. As soon as he went down, the helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well.’”

According to Ghai, Parag, who was on the ground floor, left the dog in the hands of the house help and rushed back to the house. “Parag said that she still had a pulse. Her eyes were not opening and she just had dead weight on her body. So he immediately must have realised that something was wrong. And he took her to the hospital and called her parents. But before she was brought in at Bellevue, she was already no more.”
When questioned about the anti-ageing treatment she was taking, Ghai said it's a very common practice for an actor to take such treatments to maintain their physical appearance. When asked if she had taken any treatment the day of her death, the actress said, “On that day, she did take the vitamin C IV drip, but it’s a very normal thing to take a Vitamin C. We all take vitamin C. Post-Covid people have started taking vitamin C regularly. I take it as well. Some people just pop in a tablet and some people take it through IV drip.”

She added that when she arrived at Jariwala’s home, the police had called for the person who administered the IV drip to her. “The only thing that I saw was that while I was at her home was that the police called for the guy who gave the drip just to check what medicine she was taking, and that’s when it unfolded that she had taken an IV drip that day.”
Jariwala was cremated at Oshiwara Hindu Crematorium in the presence of family and friends on Saturday evening. Her ashes were spread by her heartbroken husband on Sunday afternoon at a Mumbai beach.
