Admission to centralised courses: Higher Education Depatment releases provisional list

The Department of Higher Education has released a provisional list of all applicants seeking admission to centralised courses, including BCom, BBA and BCA, in local colleges.

The department had received 13,486 applications against 3,830 seats for centralised undergraduation courses available in 12 government and private colleges of the city. The last date for application for these courses was June 28.

Meanwhile, the highest number of 5,795 applicants applied for 2,310 seats in BCom, which makes an average of 2.60 contenders for each seat.

The top score has been recorded at 108.57 percentile in the general pool (outside UT) and 108 percentile (UT Chandigarh Pool). The lowest score has been recorded 42.20 percentile (Outside UT Pool) and 37.77 percentile (UT pool).

The score of 528 students ranged between 108.58 and 101 percentile and for 1,885 students it ranged between 100 and 90 percentile.

Meanwhile, 4,033 applications were received for 680 seats in BBA.

The highest percentile is recorded at 102.00 (UT pool) and 99.38 (Outside UT pool). There are 2,567 students between 102 and 71 percentile and 407 students between 100 and 91 percentile. The lowest has been recorded at 40.20 percentile (outside UT Pool) and 36.20 percentile (UT Pool).

A total of 3,658 applications were received for 880 seats in BCA, with 101.20 percentile (outside UT Pool) and 102.57 percentile (UT pool) being highest. The lowest is (outside pool) 36.20 percentile and 41.20 percentile (UT Pool). Five students scored between 106 and 101 percentile and 247 students between 100 and 90 percentile.

As per the announced schedule, the objections against this provisional list will be entertained till July 3. The display of provisional list of all eligible applicants will be issued on July 7 at 5pm and the display of provisional list of applicants (with allotment of colleges) will be issued on July 9 at 2pm.
