Briefly: DSP’s gunman held for taking Rs 1 lakh bribe
Bathinda: The Vigilance on Tuesday arrested a gunman of DSP Bhucho while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. A case was recently registered against Kalyan Sukha village’s former sarpanch Kulwinder Singh and his two sons at the Nathana police station. Kulwinder’s wife Paramjit Kaur complained that Raj Kumar, who introduced himself as a reader of the DSP, had demanded Rs5 lakh from her. “The deal was struck at Rs2 lakh, and I gave him Rs 1 lakh inside the DSP office complex on Tuesday.” she claimed. 3 youngsters arrested for killing friend
Bathinda: The Bathinda police on Tuesday arrested three youngsters who allegedly killed their friend Imroz Singh of Lalbai village in Muktsar near Dadi Poti Park here on Sunday night. Sarabjeet Singh, DSP (City-II), said, “Sahbaz Singh, Amritpal Singh and Khushpreet Singh have been arrested. The deceased and the accused had initially planned a leisure trip, but when it didn’t materialise, they gathered in Bathinda. While drinking, an altercation broke out, after which some of them left. Later, the accused killed Imroz using a sharp-edged weapon. TNS
‘Heritage Walk’ project along canals in Muktsar
Muktsar: The Muktsar district administration is developing a seven-km “Heritage Walk” along the Rajasthan and Sirhind feeder canals from Bhullar village towards Thandewala village. Deputy Commissioner Abhijeet Kaplish said it would feature walking and cycling tracks, green landscaping, and seating areas. He urged residents and NGOs to actively support the project. — TNS
