Breaking News: Chirag Paswan Signals Intent to Contest Bihar Assembly Polls 2025, Calls for Party Consensus
As the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 draw closer, the political temperature in the state is rising rapidly. Amid this intensifying climate, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has once again come into focus with his bold statements and assertive strategy. Speaking to the ABP NEWS, Chirag Paswan expressed his strong desire to contest the upcoming assembly elections, stating, “I want to contest the election. I’ve realized over 11 years as a Member of Parliament that I can’t fully implement the Bihar First, Bihari First vision from Delhi. It’s time I return to Bihar.” However, Paswan emphasized that the final decision will not be his alone. “When you head a party, decisions must be made collectively. We are studying whether my candidature would benefit the party and alliance overall,” he said. The party has already initiated internal surveys and analysis, and Paswan reassured that there is enough time to decide. He also cited BJP’s earlier strategies where central leaders were fielded in state elections, yielding electoral benefits. Paswan hinted that alliance-level talks about seat-sharing are yet to begin, but expected them to start soon. “Initially, we will discuss numbers, and then specific seats,” he said. He clarified that he will only contest from a seat where his organizational strength and personal influence are strong. Chirag Paswan’s statements mark the beginning of a decisive phase in Bihar’s pre-election politics, as regional dynamics and alliances prepare to take shape.
