FX renews 'The Bear' for Season 5, announces tentative release window
Following the premiere of The Bear’s fourth season just last week, FX has announced the renewal of the Emmy-winning show for a new season. In a statement, FX Chairman John Landgraf said: "The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide, and their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons. Year in and year out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
The latest season has Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy, Edebiri’s Sydney Adamu and Moss-Bachrach’s Richie Jerimovich finding themselves in a race against time to take "The Bear" to the next level. It is a struggle and a determined effort not only for the pursuit of excellence, but also for survival. The series also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
Past seasons of the show have performed well.
The critically acclaimed show has earned a total of twenty-one Emmys across its first two seasons, with season 1 raking in about ten Emmys, including Best Comedy Series and acting awards for White, Edebiri, and Moss-Bachrach, and season 2 following with a record-breaking eleven Emmys, including a win for Colón-Zayas.

The third season spent about six weeks on Nielsen’s streaming top 10 charts — a fairly long time for a binge release — and brought in about 4.5 billion viewing minutes. During the run of each of its first three seasons, the series was also named the AFI Television Program of the Year.
The newly dropped Season 4’s 10-episode continues to draw in strong viewership, and is currently rated at 85% Certified Fresh by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
All seasons of The Bear are available on Hulu and Disney+ (Hotstar in India) internationally.
Season 5 of The Bear is expected to premiere in 2026.
