Know How To Prepare High-Protein Sattu Paneer Paratha At Home
(Recipe By: Deepika Bhatt)
Paneer Sattu Paratha is a protein and savory flatbread originating from Indian cuisine, especially well-known in North India and places such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. It mixes two health-packed ingredients — paneer or Indian cottage cheese and sattu or roasted gram flour — to prepare a delicious and fulfilling stuffed paratha. This is a dish that is famous for its earthy, rustic flavour, uniform textures, and having the capacity to keep one fuller for longer, and therefore it can be a perfect breakfast option, lunch, or even a light dinner.
Paneer Sattu Paratha is a perfect blend of creamy and nutty flavours. The paneer provides a soft, rich, and slightly milky texture, while the sattu provides a grainy, roasted flavor with an earthy finish. Paired with traditional Indian spices such as cumin seeds, garam masala, green chillies, and a hint of lemon or dry mango powder (amchur), the filling is not overpowering but still flavourful. The dough is prepared with whole wheat flour, making the paratha healthy and nutritious. Once rolled out and stuffed, it is grilled on a tawa (griddle) using ghee or oil until it develops a crispy, golden brown crust on the outside while being soft on the inside.
