Apple Faces Trouble In India, Chinese Workers Leaving Foxconn Factory

Apple, the company that makes iPhones, is trying to build more iPhones in India. But now, it has run into a big problem. Many Chinese workers, who were helping with iPhone production in India, are leaving the country.

Foxconn, the company that makes most of Apple’s iPhones, brought over 300 Chinese engineers and technicians to its factory in South India. These workers were not just working on the lines—they were also teaching local workers how to do the job properly and helping everything run smoothly.

But in the last two months, many of these Chinese workers have quit. So far, neither Foxconn nor Apple has explained why. However, people close to the matter think China’s government is making it harder for people and technology to move to other countries. This may be because big companies like Apple are trying to move their factories out of China and into places like India and Southeast Asia.

This situation comes at an important time. Apple and Foxconn are getting ready to produce more iPhone 17 units. They’ve even opened a new factory in South India. But if the experienced Chinese staff are leaving, the production process may slow down. Apple has always said that Chinese workers are some of the best at making iPhones. So, without them, the factory in India may not work as fast or as well.

This could mean that new iPhones might take longer to arrive or could cost more money. Even though Apple still makes most of its phones in China, it really wants to build more in India. This is not just about money, but also about politics.

In fact, the move has caught attention in the U.S. too. Former President Donald Trump has even said Apple should not make iPhones in India.
