Yamunanagar MC forms 22 teams to check waterlogging
The Commissioner of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation (MCYJ), Akhil Pilani, has formed ward-wise teams to resolve waterlogging problems in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri for the monsoon.
The teams of the MCYJ will reach immediately after getting information of waterlogging.
The MCYJ will take action against officers and employees, under the Haryana Civil Services Rules 2016, if any of them is found negligent in performing the duty. Junior engineers, sanitation inspectors and beldars have been included in each team.
These teams will drain out the water filled in the lower areas through pumps.
Municipal Engineer Rakesh Joon has been made the nodal officer of the 22 teams.
He said that the waterlogging situation persisted in many lower areas falling under the MC due to persistent rain in the district.
“Our teams are engaged in every ward to drain out rainwater from the lower areas using pumps,” Pilani said.
He said that after getting information about waterlogging in urban areas, the team concerned would immediately reach the spot and work to drain the rainwater.
He said that if there was any problem in the pump, it would be the responsibility of Municipal Engineer Rajesh Sharma to get it repaired.
He added that all the sanitation inspectors would also oversee the sanitation system in their respective wards.
