Admn secretary Yadav assures industrialists of fast-tracked solutions to their concerns

Kamal Kishor Yadav, Administrative Secretary of Punjab’s Department of Industries and Commerce, has directed authorities to swiftly address local issues affecting industrialists in Jalandhar.

In a meeting on Wednesday, Yadav assured representatives of various industrial associations that the state government is committed to creating a more business-friendly environment, prioritising the resolution of district-level grievances to support industrial growth.

The meeting, held at the District Administrative Complex, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Agarwal, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur and officials from the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation.

Key issues raised by industrialists included concerns regarding labour, excise and taxation, municipal services and factory regulations.

The Secretary instructed relevant authorities to take immediate action on issues related to infrastructure—particularly roads, sewerage, streetlights, water supply and security—specifically in industrial hubs like the Leather Complex, Sports Complex and Surgical Complex.

In his address, Yadav highlighted the importance of Jalandhar’s renowned hand tools and power tools industries, assuring full support from the Punjab government to help these sectors expand and succeed internationally.

He also called for suggestions from industrial representatives on improving the industrial landscape in the district.

Regarding state-level demands, industrialists emphasised the need for a tool room, a testing lab for the sports industry and approvals for building plans and stability certificates. Yadav confirmed that these requests would be raised with the competent authorities for prompt action.

In his remarks, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Agarwal emphasised that regular meetings are held with industrialists to address their concerns, and that the district administration is committed to resolving issues efficiently and fostering a conducive business environment.

Additionally, Yadav informed that the process of maintaining focal points across the state is already underway, aimed at ensuring better infrastructure and services for industries.
