Easy land registration system launched in Jalandhar, 111 docs registered
After a brief technical snag, Jalandhar launched the Easy Land Registration System on Wednesday, providing much-needed relief to applicants who previously faced long queues and delays.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal shared details of the initiative, explaining that the system allows applicants to write their property deeds themselves and submit them online. The Sub Registrar’s office will approve these deeds within 48 hours. After approval, applicants can visit the Sub Registrar’s office and complete the registration process in just a few minutes.
District Revenue Officer Navdeep Bhogal reported that, on the first day, a total of 111 documents were registered under the new system, including 72 at Sub Registrar-1 and 39 at Sub Registrar-2.
Raj Rani, an applicant from Khurla Kingra locality, lauded the system, stating that she had completed her property registration in just five minutes on Wednesday after applying the day before.
She described the process as “simple and user-friendly,” noting that previously, the same procedure would take days and require hours of waiting at the Sub Registrar’s office.
Inderjit Kaler from Kot Sadiq echoed similar sentiments, expressing that the era of long queues and cumbersome delays was now over.
He appreciated the air-conditioned waiting rooms, token system, and on-the-spot drafting facilities, which have made the registration process quick and hassle-free.
Sub Registrar Jalandhar-1, Damanbir Singh, highlighted that applicants can also use deed writer services available at the Sub Registrar’s office for a nominal fee.
Under the system, applicants can upload their deeds online, receive approval within 48 hours, purchase E-stamps, and complete the registration process without delay.
