Bad news for US as China is building giant ‘military city’, ten times bigger than Pentagon, even nuclear attack will….; is World War 3….
The world has seen some major wartime episodes, including the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war, near-constant conflicts between India and Pakistan, and the Israel–Palestine violence. There are renewed tensions between China and Taiwan, and fears that some conflict is imminent. These events demonstrate the fragility of world peace and the growing possibility of major international conflict. It appears that China is subtly gearing up for what could be World War III, based on the dramatic military construction and the deployment of mysterious construction projects, such as the Beijing Military City.
WW3 Near? China building giant ‘military city’ fortress ten times bigger than the Pentagon with a nuclear-proof bunker
According to a report by The Sun, China is covertly constructing a massive new military complex, which, reportedly ten times the size of the Pentagon. The military complex, dubbed the “Beijing Military City”, also comes with a doomsday bunker to withstand nuclear assaults and may possibly be used as a command center in the event of a third global conflict, according to U.S. intelligence sources, reported The Sun.
China’s ‘military city’ vs Pentagon
The Pentagon, which is the biggest office building in the world, will be outdone by China’s new military site that is over 4 kilometers wide. About 20 miles southwest of Beijing, this enormous facility does not appear to have any clear evidence of military activity. As per The Sun report, U.S. intelligence suspects the facility’s architecture is intended to be important for military futures. Under Xi Jinping’s leadership, China is accelerating its nuclear capabilities, which experts warn could rival that of the United States within the next decade.
A nation that accumulates nuclear weapons also needs more defense against aggression from other states. This is presumably the reason China is building a bunker underneath the new military compound. The Financial Times was the first to report on the new construction, using satellite imagery to illustrate the development of the site over time.
In February 2022, the site contained many residential areas and open land, and was located just north of the Chongqing Reservoir. By the next year, much of the site was cleared, presumably to accommodate a large construction project, which appears to have occurred around the middle of 2024.
The site had been fully developed by June that year, it had a complete new network of tunnels and roads in and around the site. Despite this, the Chinese government asserts that this new facility does not exist.
Drones banned, trails erased, access blocked — what’s China hiding?
There is no definitive information about the construction project, and the Chinese embassy claims to have no idea about anything going on. But the heavy security in the area suggests otherwise. No one can enter, and no drones or cameras can be used. Even the popular sections of hiking trails nearby have been severed to keep the public from having any view of the construction.
A former senior officer with U.S. intelligence told the Financial Times that this new command center may be a replacement for China’s original military command centre, which was built in the Cold War. “The size, scale, and partially buried characteristics of the new facility suggest it will replace the Western Hills complex as the primary wartime command facility, ” the source was quoted as saying by the Financial Times.
