'Ramayana: The Introduction' Cast and Crew

The cast brings together some of Indian cinema’s biggest names. Ranbir Kapoor steps into the iconic role of Lord Rama, while pan-India superstar Yash will portray the formidable Ravana. Sai Pallavi joins the epic as Sita, Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey takes on the role of Lakshman. Together, they lead a stellar ensemble supported by a top-tier technical crew from Hollywood and India.

The music score is a historic collaboration between A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Action choreography is in the capable hands of Terry Notary (Avengers, Planet of the Apes) and Guy Norris (Mad Max: Fury Road), while the visual world is being shaped by acclaimed production designers Ravi Bansal (Dune 2) and Ramsey Avery (Tomorrowland).

Director Nitesh Tiwari shared, “Ramayana is a story we’ve all grown up with. It carries the soul of our culture. Our aim was to honour that soul — and present it with the cinematic scale it truly deserves. As a filmmaker, it’s both a huge responsibility and a heartfelt honour to bring it to life. It’s a tale that has endured across millennia because it speaks to something deep and eternal within us. We are not simply making a film."

'Ramayana' Release Date

With its debut chapter slated for release during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 expected in Diwali 2027, the film is being shot for immersive formats like IMAX to deliver a visually opulent experience.
