Deepika Padukone Becomes FIRST Indian Actress To Receive Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star
In a historic moment, actress Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian actress to be honoured with the coveted Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The actress has been chosen as a recipient of the honour for the coming year.
On Wednesday, Deepika's name was announced at a press conference in Hollywood for the honour, along with global names like Miley Cyrus, Timothee Chalamet, and others.
Hollywood actress Emily Blunt, French actress Cotillard, Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, Italian actor Franco Nero, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will also be honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
"We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026," Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, said in a statement.
"These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition," he added.
As soon as the news surfaced, fans of the actress went into a tizzy and lauded the actress for the significant milestone in her career.
Deepika Padukone in Hollywood
It is to be noted that back in 2017, Deepika marked her Hollywood debut with XXX: Return of Xander Cage, in which she shared the screen with Vin Diesel. She has also grabbed eyeballs at the Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival over the years.
Deepika has featured in TIME's 100 most influential people list as well, alongside some of the biggest names across the globe.
Deepika Padukone's upcoming projects
On the work front, Deepika will be next seen in the second part of the blockbuster pan-India film, Kalki 2898 AD, co-starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and other big names.
Besides, she was recently introduced as the lead in Allu Arjun's upcoming film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, which is being helmed by director Atlee.
Deepika will also be seen reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan in his upcoming film, King.
