'Only Committed To Akshay Kumar': Priyadarshan REACTS To Paresh Rawal's Return In Hera Pheri 3, Says 'Don't Know Anybody Else'

After all the back and forth and the controversy that erupted, Paresh Rawal has confirmed that he is back in Hera Pheri 3, but filmmaker Priyadarshan seems to be in no mood to talk about the veteran actor now. He even went on to say that he is only committed to Akshay Kumar for the film, and nobody else.

"I am living in south India, whenever a film is signed, I will go to shoot it. I am only committed to Akshay Kumar to do this film, I don’t know anybody else," Priyadarshan told Hindustan Times.

Straightaway refusing to comment, he went on to say, "You won’t see a single comment of mine on the whole issue till today. I don’t believe in the politics of cinema."

"Suniel, Akshay and Paresh are my best friends. There was difference of opinion between them, that has been sorted. This is all I know. I don’t think anybody else is involved in it," he added.

What was the Hera Pheri 3 controversy?

Back in May, Rawal had publicly announced his decision to quit Hera Pheri 3, however, he never revealed the reason behind it. Fans of the actor, and especially his role of Baburao in the film, were dejected as they felt that no one else could play the role like he did.

The biggest blow came when Akshay Kumar, who is co-producing Hera Pheri 3, sued Rawal for Rs 25 crore in damages for abandoning the film midway.

However, a few days ago, Rawal went on record to say, "Everything is fine now".

"There is no controversy, really. When a project is so loved by audiences, you need to handle it with extra care. The public has showered us with love, and that comes with responsibility. We must never take that for granted. We owe them our best work," he told Bollywood Hungama.

An official statement on Hera Pheri 3's release is awaited.
