Days after the rape of a minor on Solapur Highway in Pune district, a another case of rape, this time in Kondhwa in Pune, has sent shockwaves across the city.
In the crime which took place at around 7.30 pm on Wednesday evening, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped inside her flat by a man posing as a courier agent.

The incident, which took place inside a safe place at a reasonable hour, has raised serious safety questions in Pune and has led to a question — Is Pune safe now?
As per the details shared by Pune Zone 5 Pune City DCP Rajkumar Shinde, "On Wednesday around 7:30 pm, a man posing as a delivery boy entered the society and went to the victim's house. Later, he asked asked for a pen to sign (a document) and as she turned her back to him, he came inside the house and latched the door."
The man clicked a selfie on the woman's phone. He left a message on her phone that he had taken her photos, and if she revealed about the incident to anyone, he would make the pictures viral, he said.
He also stated in the message that he "will come again", the official said.
"The woman does not remember anything (further) as she gained consciousness around 8.30 pm. The woman then informed her relatives and subsequently police were alerted," Shinde said.
The woman lost consciousness during the assault and remained unconscious for several hours. Authorities are examining whether the attacker sprayed any chemical on her.
He added, "As per the photo, it seems the accused's age is around 25-30. The victim has been in the city for the last one year. She works from home. Her condition is stable now and she is under police security. Whether the accused is known to each other or if he recce-ed the society is part of the investigation. The crime branch police and local police have been deployed soon and will be arrested soon."
A total of 10 police teams have been deployed in search of the accused.
As per sections 64 and 77, a case has been registered at Kondhwa Police Station.
