Actors in India are renowned for wearing many hats, seamlessly juggling multiple roles both on and off screen. From R. Madhavan to Taapsee Pannu, many actors in the world of glitz and glamour were first engineers and then became stars. Today, we will discuss one such figure who pursued electrical engineering, worked in the real estate sector, and then gave it all up to become an actor.
Now, this actor is all set to feature in a Rs 835 crore film. If you are wondering who this actor is, let us tell you that he is not from Bollywood, but the king of television. The actor in discussion is none other than Ravi Dubey. An actor known to be a jack of all trades, he is now poised to make headlines globally.
Ravi Dubey is all set to reprise the character of Laxman in director Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part film series Ramayana: Part 1 and 2. Ravi, who gained a massive breakthrough with serials like Saas Bina Sasural and later with Jamai Raja, is now gearing up to make it big in Bollywood with a film that reportedly has a budget of Rs 835 crore.
Did You Know Ravi Was an Engineer by Profession?
Yes, you read that right! Ravi did his electronics and telecommunications engineering at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Since his father, Gyan Prakash Dubey, was a civil engineer, Ravi chose the same field as a backup plan. He began his career in modelling before making his television debut with Stree… Teri Kahaani (2006-2007).
According to Wikipedia, Ravi also worked as a real estate agent. However, he knew his true calling was acting and hence started his journey in the same field. The actor later got married to co-star Sargun Mehta on December 7, 2013. The duo also own a film and television production company, Dreamiyata Entertainment. Since then, he never looked back.
