A catastrophic cloudburst struck Thunag town in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district on Monday night, triggering massive flooding and widespread destruction. The remote town, nestled in the Seraj Valley, witnessed an onslaught of rainwater and debris as multiple mountain streams swelled uncontrollably, sweeping through homes, shops, and roads like a raging river. At least 40 houses were washed away, resembling paper boats in the storm. The area now lies disconnected from the district headquarters for the third consecutive day, with no road access, electricity, water supply, or mobile connectivity.
