Mumbai Tragedy: 14-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Jumps From 57-Storey Building In Kandivali West After Mother Insists On Tuition
Mumbai: A 14-year-old boy, angry after his mother asked him to go to tuition instead of playing, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from his residential building. The building is a 57-storey high-rise; however, the police are yet to determine exactly from which floor he jumped.
The incident took place in Kandivali West at around 6 pm on Wednesday. The deceased boy was the only son of a Gujarati television actress. The Kandivali police registered an accidental death report on the same day. Residents heard a loud thud and found the boy grievously injured.
According to the FIR, the building, named Sea Brook, is located on 90 Feet Road, Kandivali West. Gujarati actress Aarti Makwana lived with her son Pant on the 51st floor of this building. On Wednesday around 6 pm, she asked her 14-year-old son to go for tuition.
However, he wanted to go downstairs to play. When his mother insisted that he attend tuition, he became upset because he would not be able to play with his friends. After his mother shouted at him, he left the house in anger. Shortly afterwards, he allegedly jumped from the building. He died on the spot after falling from a considerable height.
A watchman soon alerted his mother, informing her that her son was lying on the ground in a pool of blood. She was shocked when she learned of her son’s death. He was her only child, and his parents had divorced a few years ago.
With the assistance of neighbours, his mother rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body has been sent to Shatabdi Hospital, Kandivali West, for post-mortem examination.
The police said they have not found any signs of foul play. However, the Kandivali police are investigating the matter thoroughly. CCTV footage of the building is being examined. The boy was studying in Class 8.
