MC buys 15 new tractor-trailers to lift garbage in Yamunanagar, Jagadhri
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has purchased 15 new tractor-trailers to lift garbage from the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
Five tractor-trailers will be deployed in each zone of the MCYJ. With the arrival of new tractor-trailers, the MCYJ area will get rid of the heaps of garbage.
Mayor Suman Bahamani flagged off the vehicles from the office of the MCYJ in the presence of the Commissioner of the MCYJ, Akhil Pilani.
According to information, the MCYJ area has been divided into three zones to undertake cleanliness work systematically. Zone-1 includes one to seven wards, Zone-2 includes eight to 15 wards and Zone-3 includes 16 to 22 wards.
Cleaning work is being done under the leadership of Chief Sanitation Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh in Zone-1, CSI Vinod Beniwal in Zone-2 and CSI Anil Nain in Zone-3.
Mayor Suman Bahamani said garbage was being collected from the houses and shops of all 22 wards by sending vehicles from door to door.
She said apart from this, the cleaning of streets, roads and public places was done by the workers of the MCYJ.
“There were less resources to lift the garbage after carrying out the cleaning work. The MCYJ has now bought 15 new tractor-trailers to solve this problem,” said Mayor Suman Bahamani.
She said that with the arrival of the new tractor-trailers, there would be no problem to lift piles of garbage from twin cities Yamunangar and Jagadhri. Akhil Pilani said the MCYJ was making more efforts to make the twin cities beautiful and clean.
He said that the residents of twin cities should also cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in keeping the city clean.
“The residents of twin cities should not throw garbage in the open and in the drains. It should be put only in the vehicles of the MCYJ coming door to door to collect garbage,” said Pilani.
He also appealed to the owners of empty plots to build boundary walls around their plots, so that no one threw garbage in the said plots.
BJP district general secretary Krishan Singla, Municipal Councillor Sandeep Dhiman, CSI Anil Nain, CSI Harjeet Singh, Sanitation Inspector Govind Sharma, Sumit Bains, Krishan Kumar, IEC Expert Pooja Agarwal and officials of the MCYJ were present on the occasion.
