Suicide by Rohtak man: Court denies bail to wife, her companion
The Court of Rohtak Additional Sessions Judge, Salender Singh, on Wednesday denied bail to a woman and her companion who have been accused of driving the woman’s husband to suicide.
The woman, Divya, and her companion, Deepak, a police official in Maharashtra, had moved applications for anticipatory (pre-arrest) bails. “The court has rejected both bail applications,” said Ashok Kadyan, the lawyer of deceased Ajay Suhag’s father, Ranbir Suhag.
Ajay Suhag, alias Magan, of Dobh village in Rohtak district, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on June 18.
Earlier on that day, Magan had uploaded a message on social media, stating that he was going to end his life as his wife was demanding money for the promotion of her boyfriend, who is a police official.
“My wife Divya and her boyfriend Deepak have been demanding money for his promotion. I have given her Rs 3.5 lakh. Now, they are pressuring me to kill my father so that I get his property and give them more money. But I won’t do that. I’ll rather kill myself,” he said in the message.
Days after the alleged suicide, a video of Magan’s wife Divya dancing with her reported boyfriend Deepak had gone viral on social media.
