Class X student commits suicide in Gurugram

A Class X girl student of a private school allegedly took her own life by hanging herself at her home in the Sector 14 area. It is reported that the girl had been suffering from mental illness.

According to the police, the 15-year-old girl was a Class X student at a private school. Family members stated that she had been unwell for a long time and was undergoing treatment. On Wednesday, her father had gone to work and her mother had also stepped out. The girl had gone to school as usual. Upon returning home and finding no one present, she allegedly hanged herself.

Later, when her mother returned home, she discovered her daughter hanging from the noose and immediately raised an alarm. A senior police officer said that the matter is currently under investigation. Her classmates will also be questioned to ascertain whether she was being harassed or bullied at school.

“We handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem. The matter is being investigated and action will be taken on the basis of facts emerging during the investigation,” added the officer.
