New Rotary year kicks off with celebrations

On the first day of the Rotary Year 2025–26, club members celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm at different locations across the city on Wednesday.

Under the president ship of Dr Puja Kapoor and secretary Dr Navneet Arora, the Rotary Club of Jalandhar West began the day with a visit to Gurudwara Nauvi Patshahi at GTB Nagar. Members gathered to seek blessings from the Almighty for the prosperity and smooth functioning of the club in the new Rotary year.

Those who joined the prayer meeting included P.S. Bindra, Kuldeep Singh, Joginder Singh, Darshan Singh, Harpreet Goldy, S.S. Vij, Guninder Kaur, Neelam Singh, Harbinder Singh, Gursharan Kaur, Daljit Singh Virdi, and Tarsem Singh Bhola.

As part of the Annapurna Day celebrations, the club members later assembled at Apahaj Ashram near HMV College to hand over various daily utility ration items to the management for the benefit of the ashram’s inmates. Tarsem Kapoor, Managing Director of the Ashram, was present on the occasion. Those present at this event included S.S. Vij, Guninder Kaur, Neelam Singh, Harbinder Singh, Daljit Singh Virdi, Tarsem Singh Bhola, Raman Bhalla, Geeta Bhalla, Dr M.S. Bhutani, Jagdish Kataria, Dr P.R. Chaudhary, and Tajinder Virdi.

Later in the day, the members gathered at New Kapoor Hospital to celebrate Doctors’ Day. During the event, prominent doctors — Dr Raman Chawla, Dr Sushma Chawla, Dr Jashneev Kapoor, Dr Deepali Luthra, Dr. Rajeshwari, Dr Raj Kumar Hastir, Dr H.S. Pal, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, Dr M.S. Bhutani, Dr P.R. Chaudhary, and Dr Pankaj Paul — were honoured with gifts. The celebration concluded with high tea and snacks. TS Bindra served as the project director for the evening celebration.
