Mumbai: Amboli Police Pulled Up By Bandra Court For Not Filing Report In Yasmeen Wankhede’s Case Against NCP Leader Nawab Malik

Mumbai: The Metropolitan Magistrate court, Bandra, on Friday, issued a show cause notice to Amboli police as it failed to submit an investigation report on the complaint filed by former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede’s sister, Yasmeen, against senior NCP leader Nawab Malik for stalking and defaming her.

Yasmeen, who is also a lawyer, had first submitted the complaint before the Andheri magistrate court in 2021 but later on it was transferred to the Magistrate court, Borivali, which was an MP-MLA court. When a court in Bandra was also designated as MP-MLA court, the case was transferred on the ground of jurisdiction. For years, the complaint was not heard because of the jurisdiction issues.

It was only in January that the Magistrate court ordered police to inquire into the allegations made in the complaint against Malik. The court had asked the police to submit a report of the inquiry by February 15. However, till date the report has not been filed.

It was alleged that Malik, out of revenge, posted Yasmeen’s pictures calling her as ‘lady don’. While seeking action for stalking, she claimed that her photographs were illegally retrieved from various platforms and circulated with alleged defamatory comments.
