What is the Nankai Trough megaquake? Ryo Tatsuki has predicted…, Japan will be destructed if…

Japan, one of the most earthquake prone countries in the world, has approved a new comprehensive disaster preparedness strategy after the warning of Nankai Trough megaquake. This earthquake will be generated from the Nankai Trough present inside the sea. This will affect large areas like Koshi, Osaka, Nagoya.

Interestingly, the warning also assumes importance after the predictions of Ryo Tatsuki, a Japanese manga artist sometimes called the ‘New Baba Vanga.’ This great earthquake is being compared to the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. But it can be more terrible than that. Because this earthquake can be of 8 to 9 magnitude or more on the Richter scale. There is a possibility of lakhs of people dying due to this. There can be losses worth billions of rupees. This warning has been issued by the Japan Meteorological Association (JMA).

What is the Nanakai Valley present in the ocean?

There is an 800 kilometer long valley under the sea from Shizuoka to Kyushu Island, west of Japan’s capital Tokyo. A terrible earthquake of 8 or 9 magnitude occurs in this valley every one or two centuries. That is why they are called megathrust quakes. That means two terrible earthquakes one after the other. Meaning in pairs. Which causes a megatsunami.

In 1770, all segments of the Nankai Valley erupted simultaneously, causing Japan’s second-largest earthquake. This also caused the Mount Fuji volcano to erupt. Three more earthquakes followed, in 1854, 1944 and 1946. All three were devastating earthquakes.

How much is at stake?

The Japanese government had said some time ago that a massive earthquake of 8 to 9 magnitude could occur in the next 30 years. Its probability is 70 percent. Government projections warn that such an event could result in the deaths of up to 298,000 people and the destruction of over 2.35 million buildings in a worst-case scenario.
