Validity list of PCA election candidates issued

Amarjeet Singh Mehta will retain the presidentship of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) for the next three-year term. Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh will make his entry into the cricket administration of the state by assuming the charge of general secretary. The returning officer today issued a validity list of the contesting candidates, clearing the way for Mehta and his team to take their respective responsibilities unopposed.

While the last date for submitting nominations was July 4, the withdrawals and the final list will be issued on July 8. The official announcement of Mehta and Kulwant taking over the PCA functioning will be made during the annual general meeting of the House on July 12.

Deepak Bali, general secretary AAP, will be the vice-president, while Siddhant Sharma will take over as the new joint secretary. Sunil Gupta, deputy commissioner on the State Planning Board, will be the PCA treasurer for the second term.

The 11 executive members have also been finalised and will be elected unopposed.
