11 vehicles seized for transporting unauthorized mining material

JAMMU, July 5: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining activities, Police teams seized 9 vehicles in Udhampur and two in Reasi, which were founded loaded with unauthorized mining mineral.
During naka checking at Jakhani, five vehicles were found transporting mining material (Bajri, Sand) without any valid permission. These vehicles were bearing registration number JK02CX-8436, JK02CX-2949, JK21K-1717, JK21J-5393 and JK21K-8488.
Accordingly, all five vehicles were seized by the police team of Police Station Udhampur and the matter was brought to the notice of DMO Udhampur.
In a similar case during naka checking at Roun Domail, Udhampur, four vehicles were found loaded with mining material (Bajri) without any valid permission. These vehicles, bearing registration number JK08L-2577, JK21K-8445, JK02CJ-1841 and JK08K-9721 were seized on the spot and DMO Udhampur was informed accordingly.
Meanwhile in Reasi, Police today seized two tractors bearing registration numbers JK20A-0048 and JK20A-1558 along with their trolleys, which were found illegally extracting gravel (bajri) from the bed of Pamote Nallah.
The tractors were intercepted during patrolling and seized on the spot. The District Mineral Officer (DMO) was informed for further necessary action under law.
