Prakash Parv of Guru Hargobind celebrated across region

JAMMU, July 5: The sacred occasion of Prakash Parv, marking the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs, was observed with great religious fervor and reverence throughout the Jammu and Kashmir.
The devotees from all walks of life gathered to pay homage to the revered Guru, whose legacy of Miri-Piri, the harmonious balance of spiritual and temporal authority continues to inspire generations.
The main congregation/ function was held in this connection at Gurudwara Chatti Patshahi, Talab Tillo in Jammu, where a large number of devotees assembled to offer obeisance and participate in the collective prayers. The atmosphere was imbued with spiritual serenity as the Sangat immersed themselves in the divine hymns and teachings of the Guru.
The day-long celebration featured- Gurbani Kirtan by renowned local Ragi Jathas, including, Bhai Gian Singh and Bhai Rattan Singh of DGPC Jammu. Prominent Ragi Jathas Bhai Surinder Singh and Bhai Nachattar Singh, Hazuri Ragis from Sri Darbar Sahib also recited Shabad Kirtan on the occasion.
The religious discourses were delivered by eminent Sikh scholars and preachers, who illuminated the life, teachings, and martial spirit of Guru Hargobind Sahib.
Prominent Sikh preacher Giani Maan Singh, former Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting Guru Sahib’s pivotal role in defending righteousness and uplifting the oppressed. Surjeet Singh of Model Town also shared valuable insights into the Guru’s contributions to Sikh philosophy and community leadership.
Ranjit Singh Tohra, president DGPC Jammu threw light on the achievement of DGPC Jammu during their three years tenure. Surjit Singh, secretary DGPC Jammu coordinated the stage.
Balvinder Singh vice president DGPC Jammu, Ranvir Singh joint secretary, Jagpal Singh treasurer, Harjit Singh, Tejinder Singh, Avtar Singh and Karan Singh Bali were also present on the occasion.
Other prominent persons who were present there included- Karan Singh Wazir Chairman J&K Motor Transport Welfare Association, Ranjit Singh president Tankers Union, Amardeep Singh Khalsa, Varinder Singh Sonu senior PDP leader, Balvinder Singh State vice president Minority Morcha (BJP), Sandeep Singh Wazir additional spokesperson NC and others.
