First 'Dhurandhar' teaser reveals a ferocious Ranveer Singh and a stacked cast in action epic from Aditya Dhar

The first look of Ranveer Singh's upcoming feature, Dhurandhar, was released on the occasion of his 40th birthday. Directed by Uri: The Surgical Strike fame Aditya Dhar, the film is touted as an action epic, with Ranveer sporting a rugged look, complete with long hair and beard.
The action-heavy first footage also revealed actors R Madhavan (unrecognisable), Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and others.
Strangely enough, Ranveer had removed all his previous Instagram posts to post the first look of this film, released at 12:12 pm, Sunday. Jio Studios and B62 Studios are backing this film written by Aditya Dhar himself, and produced by Aditya Dhar, Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
Dhurandhar, set for release on December 5, 2025, is reportedly an espionage thriller set in the 1970s across India and Pakistan, with Ranveer Singh playing an undercover agent. On the same release date, Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab, a horror-fantasy-comedy, is also arriving in theatres.
Yami Gautam praised her husband Aditya's hard work in an Instagram post sharing the teaser. "Your tireless hardwork, grit, talent , patience & journey is nothing short of a film in itself !!! This teaser echoes your love for cinema & audience!!! Congratulations my love !!! Proud of you," she wrote.
It was earlier speculated that he was playing real-life senior intelligence official Ajit Doval, but the first teaser confirms that R Madhavan is playing this character. The big-budget entertainer is said to be a cinematic, big-screen-friendly chronicle of the early days of Doval. Jio Studios captioned the teaser: "Uncover the story of unknown men and their unstoppable fight!"
Ranveer was last seen in Rohit Shetty's multi-starrer Singham Again as ACP Sangram "Simmba" Bhalerao, alongside wife Deepika Padukone and actors Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. As for Ranveer's next after Dhurandhar, he is expected to begin filming for Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 in October 2025. There are also unconfirmed reports of the actor returning for a sequel to Gully Boy.
