Government Stands Firmly With Forest Dwellers: CM Mohan Yadav
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said the message must clearly reach every forest dweller that the government is with them at every step.
He stressed the need to connect tribal and forest communities with all government schemes so that benefits of development reach their daily lives.
Speaking at a meeting of Apex Committee of the state-level task force on the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and PESA Act, Chief Minister called for adopting successful models from other states.
He referred to Maharashtra’s Jalyukta Shivar initiative as one such example worth studying and suggested that the best model available nationally should be selected to guide implementation in Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister directed forest and tribal affairs departments to clear all pending personal and community claims under Forest Rights Act by December 31, bringing pendency to zero. He also announced that Gram Sabhas will now have authority to appoint or remove PESA mobilisers based on performance, which will enhance accountability and allow better grassroots engagement.
Yadav instructed officials to organise a convention of tribal students and employed youth, to gather direct feedback on how government schemes have impacted them. He said this input would help in extending benefits to those still unreached.
He also encouraged tribal families to increase income through milk production, calling it a practical path toward self-reliance
