CBSE two-day programme champions NEP-2020 vision

The two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded on a high note at Doon Valley Public School, Nalagarh.

Conducted under the joint aegis of the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), Government of India, and CBSE’s Centre of Excellence Training Unit, the event aimed to elevate professional competencies in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education.

The programme drew enthusiastic participation from over 106 educators representing various institutions. Distinguished educationists Pushpendra Kumar, Deputy Director at ISTM, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, and Kirti Puri, Head of Department, Institute of Hotel Management, Shimla, graced the event. Rajeev Sharma, Managing Director, and Devendera Mahal, Principal, Doon Valley Public School, welcomed the participants.

To ensure personalised engagement, attendees were divided into two batches and exposed to intensive sessions on training needs analysis, adult learning principles and facilitation techniques. Core topics included syndicate presentations, peer assessments based on NEP 2020, ICT applications and innovative classroom management strategies.

Arun Masih, Principal of Chandigarh Baptist School, offered deep insights into the NEP 2020, highlighting its commitment to experiential learning, equity, quality, access, affordability and accountability. He emphasised the importance of a multidisciplinary and flexible curriculum to prepare learners for a global future.

Diwan Chand, CBSE’s official representative, extended vital support throughout the sessions, ensuring smooth coordination and impactful delivery.

Educators explored digital tools, e-content creation, collaborative learning models and techniques to foster creativity and critical thinking. Sessions seamlessly blended theory with hands-on practice, making learning both engaging and effective.

Participants actively contributed through presentations and reflections, reinforcing their takeaways and showcasing a shared commitment to educational transformation. The workshop concluded with overwhelming appreciation for the structured and forward-looking training initiative.

The school management extended heartfelt gratitude to CBSE, the trainers and all participants, celebrating the programme as a significant milestone in reimagining education for the 21st century.
