Mumbai Local Train Update: Technical Snag Disrupts Harbour Line Services Between Vashi And Panvel; Partial Operations Underway
Commuters on Mumbai’s Harbour Line faced major disruptions on Sunday evening after a technical issue between Seawoods Darave and Nerul stations led to the temporary suspension of train services on both Up and Down lines between Vashi and Panvel from 4:30 pm onwards. According to a statement from railway authorities, all-out efforts are currently underway to restore services at the earliest. Engineers and technical teams have been deployed to identify and resolve the fault. In the meantime, partial services are being operated to ensure connectivity on other sections of the Harbour Line. Trains are running on the following routes: CSMT – Vashi – CSMT, Belapur – Panvel – Belapur, and Thane – Nerul – Thane section.
Railway officials have urged passengers to stay updated through official channels and cooperate as restoration work continues. Thousands of commuters have been affected and advised to consider alternate arrangements. The disruption has led to increased pressure on road transport services, with many commuters turning to buses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws to reach their destinations. Long queues and delays were reported at several stations, including Vashi and Belapur, where stranded passengers waited for updates. Railway authorities have assured that every possible measure is being taken to restore normalcy and have also deployed additional personnel to assist passengers at key stations.
