‘F1: The Movie’ become Apple Studios’ highest-grossing film ever

F1: The Movie has zoomed at the box office, not just overtaking other global theatrical releases like Jurassic World: Rebirth and 28 Years Later, but it has now become the highest-grossing film under Apple Studios—a whopping $293 million—eclipsing all of its earlier productions.
The Joseph Kosinski directorial has surpassed the studio’s 2022 release Napoleon which managed to gross $221 in its lifetime collection. Though the Joaquin Phoenix-starrer was the studio’s biggest return, it was far from successful. Napoleon barely edged past its reported $200 million budget, falling short of expectations in profitability.
F1: The Movie’s opening weekend earnings of $144 million had almost matched lifetime collections of previous films Apple Studio-backed productions like Oscar-nominated The Killers of the Flower Moon, which earned a reported $158 million.
Kosinski, leading man Brad Pitt, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton bankrolled the film, which was made on an estimated budget of $300 million.
Just ten days into screening, high returns are expected from the racing drama. Notably, out of the $293 million that the film has collected, $60 million comes from the IMAX screenings.
From India alone, the film has attained $5.9 million (Rs 50.85 crore), according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
