Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh reopens 150-year-old VR school in Nellore; Rs 15 crore support, 1,000 students enrolled

The historic VR School in Nellore, closed in 2021, has been reopened by the HRD Minister after a Rs 15 crore renovation supported by NCC Group. The school, originally established in 1875, boasts alumni like M Venkaiah Naidu and SP Balasubramanyam. Now upgraded to international standards, it has admitted 1,000 underprivileged students, marking a revival under the TDP-led NDA government.
