Emirates Rolls Out Premium Economy Class On Kolkata–Dubai Route From July 18 After Success In Mumbai, Bengaluru & Ahmedabad

Mumbai: Emirates has announced to introduce premium economy service on Kolkata-Dubai flights from July 18 after a successful rollout on Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad routes.

On Monday, Middle-East’s largest airline Emirates announced that passengers traveling on the Dubai-Kolkata route will be able to book premium economy seats on flights from July 18. The flight EK573 will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing Kolkata at 8.45pm and reaching Dubai at 12.05am. Similarly flight EK572 will depart from Dubai at 1.05pm and arrive Kolkata at 7.15pm.

Emirates claimed that the premium economy cabin is thoughtfully-designed to offer an enhanced experience, combining comfort and aesthetically-pleasing features, including wider cream leather seats, increased legroom, adjustable headrests, deeper seat recline and raised cushioned leg rests. It said that for those seeking additional comfort and privacy during their journeys, the understated luxury cabins offer a refined upgrade from Economy Class.

In-flight dining in this class will include a curated selection of regional dishes served on Royal Doulton fine china tableware with stainless steel cutlery. An extended beverage list featuring a variety of premium wines, exclusive beverages and refreshments will also be available for passengers.

Each seat will be equipped with a 13.3-inch HD personal screen, offering access to a wide range of entertainment options on Emirates’ ice–in-flight entertainment system. Passengers will also have the convenience of connecting their own headphones via Bluetooth while leveraging the improved Wi-Fi connectivity across certain aircraft.

Additionally, premium economy passengers will be able to enjoy the checked-in baggage allowance of 35kg and a further 10kg of carry-on baggage. On its latest Boeing 777 aircraft, the premium economy cabin features 24 seats providing passengers with a spacious and elevated travel experience.

The product is now available across a growing number of aircraft in the airline’s fleet. Emirates operates 11 flights per week from Kolkata to Dubai. In addition to EK572 and EK573, which will feature premium economy and operates four times weekly, Emirates also operates EK570 and EK571 daily between Kolkata and Dubai.
