Bank reserves 85% jobs for Chandigarh residents

The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Limited has decided to reserve 85% jobs for residents of the UT.

During a meeting held under the chairmanship of Satinderpal Singh Sidhu, Chairman, Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank, the Board of Directors resolved to reserve 85% of jobs in the bank for Chandigarh residents. Out of this quota, 15% of posts will be kept for original inhabitants of Chandigarh villages.

The quota will apply to all categories of recruitment, including regular, contract, part-time and outsourcing.

“Despite Chandigarh being the capital of Punjab and Haryana, its youth have often not been given priority in employment opportunities, as it is treated administratively as a separate entity. Recognising this gap, the board has taken this step to ensure local candidates are adequately represented in the bank’s workforce,” said Sidhu.

The Board of Directors also approved the bank’s loan policy and sanctioned upgrade of its Sector 22 branch to enhance customer service and operational capacity.
