Student launches all-in-one fintech smart card
A new student-led start-up is set to transform the way Indian students manage their finances, as Riddhima Dwivedi, an MA student from Lovely Professional University (LPU), has launched an all-in-one smart card.
Her venture, Riddhima Chandan Media House (RCMH), has launched a fintech community card that brings together the benefits of multiple cards—college ID, payment card, travel pass and membership perks—into one smart solution. Besides, it also offers exclusive financial benefits and discounts.
Riddhima says the idea for the new venture was born out of her own daily struggles. “I used to carry so many cards—debit card, college ID, metro card and even brand membership cards. It was inconvenient and unnecessary. That’s when I thought—why not combine everything into one?” she added.
But the issue ran deeper. “Many students, especially those without access to credit cards, were missing out on exclusive brand discounts and financial tools that could help them save money and manage their expenses better. That realisation led to the creation of the RCMH Card—a prepaid limit card loaded with features tailored specifically for students,” she said.
Sharing its features, she said the card offered exclusive discounts, ranging from 2 to 25 per cent, across top brands—from food and fashion to ed-tech platforms. It also has a provision of a prepaid limit card, promoting responsible spending without the pitfalls of credit debt. “Unlike traditional debit or credit cards, which often have strict eligibility or lack student-specific features, the RCMH is designed to cater to the student lifestyle,” she said.
The RCMH’s innovative approach has already drawn attention in the fintech space. With a current market valuation of Rs 120 crore, the start-up is making serious waves. Riddhima has also secured a pre-seed fund and grant worth Rs 23 lakh and an investor fund of Rs 5 crore, allowing her to expand operations and scale the product. The funds are being channelled into marketing and branding, aiming to reach more students across India.
Her work has not gone unnoticed. She was recently honoured with the Women in Fintech Disruptor Award by Ashneer Grover at the cluster of achievers event, further solidifying her position as a rising star in student-focused fintech. Riddhima has proven that even a small idea can make a massive difference.
