Bihar News: One Accused in Gopal Khemka Murder Case Killed in Encounter With STF in Patna

In a major breakthrough in the Gopal Khemka murder case, an accused named Vikas alias Raja was shot dead during an encounter with the Bihar STF in Patna’s Mal Salami area. Raja was reportedly involved in the illegal manufacturing and sale of firearms. Police sources confirmed that shooter Umesh Yadav, who executed Khemka’s killing, had procured the weapon from Raja. During the STF operation, Raja opened fire in an attempt to escape, which led to retaliatory firing by the police, resulting in his death. The encounter site yielded a pistol and other key evidence linking Raja to the murder conspiracy. The police have indicated that this killing was part of a broader plan and that both Raja and Umesh were part of an organized criminal nexus. Raja was alone at the time of the encounter.Authorities suspect a land dispute as the underlying motive behind Khemka’s murder. While four people had been arrested earlier in the case, one of them—also an accused—was killed after being released. The police are now connecting the missing links between the accused and have assured the public that full details, including planning and execution of the crime, will be revealed soon.
