One Dead, Over 10 Injured After Wall Collapse At MP's Bageshwar Dham; Second Incident In 5 Days; VISUALS Surface
Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Another wall collapse occurred at Bageshwar Dham, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, which led to death of 1 and injuries to over 10 people.
The incident occurred in Garha village early Tuesday morning around 3 am when a wall of a roadside eatery (dhaba) collapsed, killing one woman and injuring more than 12 others.
The deceased was identified as Anita Devi Kharwar (40), wife of Raju, from Adalhat village in Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh.
Regarding the matter, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Chhatarpur, R.P. Gupta, said that one body and 10 injured individuals were brought to the district hospital.
He stated, “This morning, following heavy rainfall, a wall at Sharma Dhaba near Bageshwar Dham collapsed, injuring several devotees. They were immediately brought to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.”
He further added, “Our team of doctors is present on-site. All the injured were given first aid after an initial assessment. Further medical tests are being carried out for those with serious injuries, and if required, they will be referred to higher medical centers for advanced care.”
Her family said they were sleeping in a nearby dharamshala (shelter) when the wall suddenly fell on them.
As soon as the incident was reported, local police and district administration teams reached the spot.
The injured were quickly taken to Chhatarpur District Hospital by ambulance. Officials said that all injured persons are in stable condition and are receiving proper treatment.
Second incident in 5 days
This is the second accident in Bageshwar Dham in just five days. Earlier, a tent had collapsed in the premises, leading to the death of one devotee and injuries to eight others in the resulting chaos.
Authorities have started an investigation into the cause of the wall collapse.
