Terrifying Video: Off-Duty Pune Fireman Saves Toddler Dangling From 3rd Floor Window, Alone At Home
In a dramatic incident early this morning in Pune, a four-year-old girl narrowly escaped a tragic fall from the third floor of Sonawane Building in Katraj’s Gujar Nimbalkarwadi, Khopde Nagar, thanks to the quick action of an off-duty firefighter.
At around 9:06 AM on Tuesday, Yogesh Arjun Chavan, Pune fire brigade personnel currently on leave, heard distress calls from a neighbor, Umesh Sutar. Rushing to his gallery, Chavan saw young Bhavika Chandane precariously stuck in the window of a locked third-floor flat, attempting to climb out.
Without wasting a moment, Chavan sprinted to the building, reached the third floor, and just as Bhavika’s mother returned home after dropping her elder daughter to school, he gained entry into the flat. He quickly pulled the child to safety through the bedroom window, preventing what could have been a deadly fall.
In the video, which has now gone viral on social media, one can see the child attempting to hold on to the window as a man is shouting "Baccha gir raha hai (Baby is falling)." Then we see a man and a woman at the window taking the baby inside.
Chavan’s swift and selfless act has earned widespread praise, with residents calling him a true hero.
