The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees above normal. The IMD has predicted generally cloudy weather and moderate rain throughout the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at 70 percent at 8.30 am.
In its latest forecast, the Meteorological Department has said that a low pressure area is formed in the Gangetic West Bengal and its adjoining areas. It is likely to move west-northwestwards through Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh to Rajasthan and Gujarat during the next 2 days. IMD said that a cyclonic circulation is formed in South Gujarat and its adjoining areas. Apart from this, the monsoon trough is also active in North India. Due to these weather conditions, heavy to very heavy rains are expected across the country for the next four-five days. Train services at the busy Sealdah Junction of Eastern Railway were affected on Tuesday due to waterlogging at various stations connecting the main route and Bongaon after heavy rains in Kolkata and suburban areas on Tuesday.

Issuing a forecast for eastern and central India, IMD has said that extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in eastern Madhya Pradesh on July 08. Orange alert has been issued for Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and southern Madhya Pradesh, eastern Maharashtra.

The forecasts issued for northwest India state that heavy rains are likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand between July 8 and 14, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during July 08 to 10, western Uttar Pradesh during July 08 to 11, Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh, eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 09 and 10, western Rajasthan during July 12-14, eastern Rajasthan during July 10-14. Very heavy rains will occur over Uttarakhand on 08th July, over East Rajasthan on 11th and 12th July.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning at some places in the western Himalayan region and plains during the next 7 days. At the sae time, forecasts for West India say that heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during July 08 to 10. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Marathwada on 08, Saurashtra and Kutch on 08,12 and 13, Gujarat region during July 08-14, heavy rain in Gujarat region on 08, heavy rain in Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on 09 July.

Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during July 08 to 14. Heavy rain is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during July 11 to 14 and very heavy rain over Tripura and Mizoram on July 8.
