Moradabad: A shameful and shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, a minor girl was repeatedly raped by her father. The case came to light after a newborn baby was found stuffed inside a bag on a train in UP's Moradabad on June 22.

Police at Moradabad Junction found a newborn baby abandoned in a bag in the general compartment of the Summer Special Train. They also found a SIM card in the bag, which turned out to be a breakthrough in the investigation.

Probe revealed, the baby was born on the same day, when the minor girl was being taken to Delhi by train “for treatment” by her father and other family members.

When the SIM card details were investigated, it turned out to be of a relative of the victim. He narrated to the police the ordeal the minor had to experience.

The relative revealed, her father repeatedly raped her. After she became pregnant, her parents tried to hide the crime. They were taking her to Delhi for treatment.

The teenage girl had delivered the baby boy in the train's toilet when the train was near Varanasi. The girl and the family disembarked after putting the baby in a bag that they placed inside the toilet of another train there.

"On June 22, a baby was reported in a bag in the Summer Special train. The baby was taken to the hospital, and a SIM card from Bihar was also recovered from the bag. When traced, the owner of the SIM card told that the baby was of a minor girl relative of his, who had become pregnant after rape," Ravindra Vashistha, Station Head GRP, Moradabad Junction was qouted saying by news agency ANI.

The police have registered the case under the relevant section. Further investigation will be carried out by Bihar Police. Police confirmed that the victim has admitted to being raped by her father.

The victim gave a written consent that she cannot afford to keep the child. She was accompanied by her mother and maternal grandmother, who ecoed similar sentiments. However, the baby would not be up for adoption immediately; the process will start after two months, when the victim could have a rethink and claim the baby's custody.
