End-Of-Life Vehicle Ban In Delhi From Nov 1; These NCR Cities To Also See Fuel Prohibition
New Delhi: The renewed ban on end-of-life vehicles in Delhi, which will halt the sale of petrol and diesel to older cars, has been postponed to November 1. This decision was made today during a meeting of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), offering a reprieve for owners of older vehicles until October 31.
Sources within the CAQM indicate that a new amendment to CAQM Direction 89 will be released shortly.
Beginning November 1, the restriction on dispensing petrol and diesel to older vehicles will not only apply to Delhi but also extend to key National Capital Region (NCR) cities. These include Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Gurugram, and Sonipat.
According to sources, the CAQM has acceded to the Delhi government's request to implement the ban on older vehicles across the entire NCR simultaneously. This move aims to ensure a more uniform approach to curbing vehicular pollution in the region.
