After 25 years, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, starring Smriti Irani, is set for a grand comeback, marking Smriti’s return to acting after over 15 years. On Tuesday evening, July 7, the makers unveiled the show's first look, announcing that it will begin airing from July 29, leaving fans thrilled and nostalgic.

Filmmaker Karan Johar couldn't keep calm and took to his Instagram story on Wednesday to laud Ektaa Kapoor for bringing back Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He wrote, "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' - One show. Many generations. Countless memories. Personally the one show that changed the face of Indian television and all credit to @ektarkapoor for that!!!"

The video opens with a family dining at a restaurant as the iconic title track of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi plays on a television nearby. The son says, "Mummy ka favourite show tha," to which she responds, "Bahut favourite." He adds, "Suna hai Kyunki vapas aa raha hai."

As they discuss Tulsi's return, Smriti makes a grand entry in a purple-golden saree, dressed as Tulsi, watering the Tulsi plant. She says, “Zaroor aaoongi, kyunki humara 25 saalon ka rishta jo hai. Waqt aagaya hai aapse phir milne ka."

The video ends with her signature smile and folded hands.

The show, which began airing in 2000, quickly became a household name and ran for eight long years. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is all set to return from July 29, airing at 10:30 PM on Star Plus and streaming on JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar.
