Police officer Mohanlal? Veteran actor posts first look for Austin Dan Thomas' directorial debut 'L365'

Mollywood superstar Mohanlal on Tuesday announced his next film, following the success of Tharun Moorthy's 'Thudarum'.
Tentatively titled 'L365' for now, Austin Dan Thomas' directorial debut may see the veteran actor reprise the role of a police officer, as indicated by a two-star (Sub-Inspector) police uniform hanging beside a mirror, in the film's poster.
The poster also shows what looks like a dimly-lit bathroom, hinting at a possibly gritty tale. However, the makers of the film have not yet revealed anything about the plot, or the remainder of the cast.

Written by Retheesh Ravi, the mind behind 'Ishq' (2019) and a co-writer for 'Alappuzha Gymkhana' (2025), the film will be produced by Ashiq Usman, under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions. Usman has previously produced films like 'Kali' (2016), 'Anjaam Pathira' (2020), 'Thallumaala' (2022), and 'Dear Friend' (2022).
“Grateful to be part of this exciting new chapter,” he explained, in an X post announcing the film. The post also included a picture of Mohanlal posing with the team behind his next film.
Last seen in a cameo for Telugu epic 'Kannappa' (2025), and earlier this year in 'Thudarum' and 'L2: Empuraan'—both of which were box office hits (especially 'Thudarum')—the beloved actor will next be seen in Sathyan Anthikad family drama 'Hridayapoorvam', opposite Malavika Mohanan and 'Premalu' fame Sangeeth Prathap.
