Flights Closed: 12 flights closed at this airport, check immediately before travelling
The Ahmedabad plane crash has affected the airports and aviation in the entire country. 12 flights to and from Ranchi airport have been stopped. The number of passengers at the airport has also reduced by two thousand. Even after this, the fares are not coming down.
Flights Closed: After the Air India Dreamliner plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the number of flights from Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport has decreased instead of increasing. In the month of May, 54 flights used to operate from Ranchi Airport, which came down to 48 by June 30. On July 5, this number has come down further to 42. The number of passengers has also decreased here. Compared to May, the number of passengers here has decreased by more than 2000. On May 25, 8,855 passengers traveled from Ranchi Airport, while on July 5 this number decreased to 6,561. The biggest reason behind this is said to be the order of strict investigation by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after the Ahmedabad plane crash.
The maximum number of flights available from Ranchi Airport to Delhi is six every day. These flights fly from Ranchi Airport from morning to night. Six flights are available for Delhi every day. There are three flights each for Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata, two for Mumbai and one each for Pune, Patna, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Bhubaneswar. A total of 44 flights were operated on Monday.
Only fully flight-capable aircraft are allowed
According to airline officials, all airlines are serious about aircraft maintenance after the order of investigation following the plane crash in Ahmedabad. The Director General of Civil Aviation has ordered strict investigation, due to which aviation companies are taking precautions while flying planes. DGCA is monitoring the inspection of aircraft of various airlines. This is the reason why only fully flight-capable aircraft are flying.
Airlines’ argument on the decrease in passengers
Air India Express officials say that the number of passengers has been decreasing every year due to the onset of monsoon season. Due to this, the number of passengers as well as aircraft has decreased. Despite the decrease in the number of aircraft and passengers, there has been no significant difference in the fares. Aviation companies say that after the monsoon season, the number of passengers will increase.
