12 new link roads okayed in Dhuri area
The Punjab Government has approved 12 new link roads in the Dhuri Assembly segment worth Rs 12.89 crore to strengthen rural infrastructure. These roads will directly connect 17 villages and indirectly benefit nearly half of the segment.
The foundation stones for these roads were today laid by Dalvir Singh Dhillon, Chairman, Punjab State Small Industries and Export Corporation.
Dhillon said the foundation stones had been laid for roads connecting Bugran to Rajomajra, Bugran to Pedhni Kalan, Ladda to main road, Bugran to Kanjhla, Bugran to Salempur, Sultanpur to Dhandiwal, Rangian to Dhandiwal, Ghanour Kalan to Ghanour Khurd, Ghanour Kalan to Kalerian, Ghanaur Kalan to Dada Akki and Kumbharwal to Kattu.
For completion of these link roads, four months’ target had been fixed. He said these roads would significantly improve connectivity in nearly half of the Dhuri segment. These roads would ease transportation, reduce road accidents and support employment and business activity, he added.
