Ensure regular checking of students’ attendance, punctuality of teachers, Rohtak varsity VC tells HODs
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Vice Chancellor Rajbir Singh has directed the heads of all teaching departments at the university to strictly monitor student attendance in classes and ensure the punctuality of faculty members on a regular basis.
“Regular attendance of students and punctuality of teachers must be taken seriously. These are fundamental to maintaining academic discipline and ensuring quality education,” he said.
The VC made these remarks during a meeting with deans of various faculties, held to review preparations for the upcoming academic session and discuss key administrative matters.
In the meeting, along with the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), important topics such as class attendance of students in the upcoming academic session, student discipline, induction programme, promotion and new recruitments were reviewed.
“Now, the time has come that the provisions of the NEP-2020 should be implemented at the ground level and not limited to papers only. All the deans should monitor the progress of changes related to NEP in their respective faculties and take corrective steps as required,” said Singh.
The outline of the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) induction programme for the upcoming academic session was also discussed in detail in the meeting.
“The induction programme for UG students will be organised from 28 to 30 July and the induction programme for PG students will be organised on 11 and 12 August. Apart from this, a separate induction programme will be organised for engineering and pharmacy students. The purpose of these programmes is to introduce the students to the academic and social environment of the university so that they can easily adjust to the new environment,” said the VC.
Singh informed about the process related to cas promotion of teachers that this work will be completed by 15 August.
He directed the departments concerned to complete all formalities on time and maintain transparency. The meeting also emphasised on speeding up the recruitment process of teachers.
The VC said the timely appointment of subject experts was very important for quality education. He said the university administration was working fast in the direction and the process of new recruitment would be finalised soon.
