Boarding schools’ body gets new prez
Capt AJ Singh, Executive Director of Pinegrove School, has been unanimously elected as the president of the Boarding Schools’ Association of India (BSAI) for the term 2025-2027. The announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BSAI, held at The Doon School, Dehradun — marking a notable moment in the leadership of residential education in India.
Capt Singh, a trailblazer in the field of boarding school education, brings with him a legacy of visionary leadership and deep commitment to holistic and value-based learning. As the Founder Headmaster of Pinegrove School, a premier full-boarding institution in Himachal Pradesh, he has consistently raised the bar in academic excellence, character building and institutional development. His work has served as a model for educators across the nation.
He has held several key leadership positions over the years. He served as chairman of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC) in 2018, and was vice-president of BSAI from 2021 to 2025. He was also a member of the Board of Governors of the Central Board of Secondary Education from 2019 to 2022 and is currently a nominated member of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education.
In his new role, Capt Singh is expected to guide BSAI’s 63 member schools towards a more collaborative, future-ready and globally relevant education system. His leadership is anticipated to enhance operational excellence.
