RJD, Congress, Left Parties Unite in Patna as Tejashwi Awaits Rahul Gandhi for Mega March Against 'Votebandi'
At Patna’s Income Tax Golambar, a massive opposition rally led by RJD's Tejashwi Yadav has gathered, with leaders from Congress, Left parties, and VIP party present. They await Rahul Gandhi’s arrival to launch a protest march against the Election Commission’s voter list verification drive in Bihar. The opposition, calling this process "votebandi," claims it unfairly targets poor, Dalit, backward, and migrant voters by demanding excessive documentation. Tejashwi Yadav, joined by Mukesh Sahani, Pappu Yadav, and Kanhaiya Kumar, voiced concern that genuine voters may be excluded. Protesters question why the same voter list used in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is now deemed unreliable. With slogans like “Vote Bachao, Loktantra Bachao” and “Modi Sarkar Vote Chheen Rahi Hai,” the INDIA alliance aims to project unity and strength ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls. The protest will culminate in a march to the Bihar Election Commission’s office.
